When it comes to raw chicken meat, it can sit in the fridge for a day, two days at most. If more than two day passes, it’s better to throw it away.
If you want to prevent raw meat from going bad, it’s better to put it in the freezer rather than the fridge, because the extremely low temperatures will create better conditions and it will significantly slow down the deterioration process. In fact, raw whole chicken can stay in the freezer for up to a year, while raw chicken cutlet can be left in the freezer for no more than nine months.
Cooked chicken, on the other hand, can survive for about three to four days in the fridge. Don’t let the chicken sit in the fridge for more than four days, and always make sure to eat it before the four days time stamp passes.
